Meet Volunteers

The volunteers supporting the PTFA are incredible. Their dedication fosters community, fuels fundraising efforts, and enhances the overall school experience. Wearing multiple hats, they adapt seamlessly, amplifying the impact of the PTFA. Their efforts extend beyond school grounds, creating connections within the community. Recognising and celebrating their contributions is vital, ensuring a continuous cycle of involvement and dedication. In short, these volunteers are the backbone of a thriving and impactful PTFA.

With my eldest having started the school this academic year and my youngest two years away, like many St Lukes and I have a long relationship ahead, and I’m keen for the school to be the very best it can be. There’s only so much a school can do with the funding it receives, and the very best schools have exceptional PTFA connections, supplementing their educational potential to even greater heights and standards. That’s why it's important to me that we all work together to create the very best in class school for our children; so much so, I even joined the board of Governors! Any difference we can make now is a difference to our kids future, whether it be their knowledge, opportunities or simply fond memories – and the team of volunteers at St Luke’s PTFA have been second to none!

I have 3 children at St Luke’s school. My eldest is in year 6 and my youngest is in year 1. As a stay at home mum of 3 I have the time (and energy!) to help PTFA at various events. I like helping as I’d like to make the primary school years memorable for my kids. I think all the discos and summer fairs is what they will remember. I am very grateful that our school has such a strong PTFA organising these lovely events. My favourite part is interacting with the little ones - especially at discos when their are trying to handle their pocket money to buy sweets and toys, and setting up the winter fair - making the grottos magical! Plus you get to know many other lovely parents.

We have 3 kids at the school and usually we attend all PTFA events as it’s fun for them and we’d like to support the school as they do so much for our children. I’ve helped a few times at the events. Usually with setting up or tidying up at the end. It’s lovely to provide a little bit of help when it’s needed. There’s always something to be done no matter how little time you can volunteer for.

I have a son who is in year 2 this school year. I work nights (part time) so I have a free time during the day and volunteering with the PTFA is perfect for me as I get to see the amazing work that they’re doing and also get involved from time to time. I like helping as I get to see my son in the school environment and seeing the children’s excited faces at the events organised by the PTFA.
Charlotte & Matt
Charlotte and Matt are parents of a daughter in KS1, and a little boy who will be starting school in Sept 2025. Both work in Adult Social Care. Learning about how vital the PTFA is to so many elements of the school was eye opening for us. Knowing they were set to close and realising the impact on St Luke’s got me out my comfort zone! They’re such a great bunch of welcoming, normal parents and guardians who just want to see our kiddos happy and thriving. They totally understand that any help big or small is so valued, it’s allowed us to jump in when we can, listen and share ideas and feel a part of the school community. Our daughter has been so proud that we volunteer which is so sweet! Come say hey, we love a chat!
Rich & Carla
We have been apart of the St Luke’s family for a while. Our eldest daughter has now finished but we still have a daughter in year 5 and a son in year 1. We really enjoy supporting the school where we can as the school has done and dose so much for all our children. We are very lucky to have such a great group of parents to support the school who are friendly and supportive.

My daughter is currently in Year 3 at St Luke’s, I volunteer on the PTFA because I want to help raise vital funds for the school. I try to help where I can i.e. setting up, during the event, on stalls, packing away etc. I am able to spare some time around other commitments such as work so it’s perfect for me to be able to get involved. The PTFA team are fantastic, they are fun & work hard to achieve brilliant results which I love to be a part of. It is also a great opportunity to watch the children having fun & getting involved in various activities, especially my daughter. Since helping on the PTFA, I have realised the time & dedication it takes to organise all these wonderful events for which I, the school & parents/families are extremely grateful for.

I have worked in various roles at St Luke's for 3 years. My children, Amy 21 and Freddy 19 have their own lives now and have fled the nest. This gives me time to help the P.T.F.A at events they have organised. I often help out at school disco's and will be attending movie night. I am currently organising a very popular, young and upcoming band to perform at this summer's school fete. I am hoping that I can form closer links between our hardworking staff and enthusiastic parents. I have always felt that St Luke's is a wonderful place to work and that staff, children and parents show great unity. I truly believe we are one big family. To see the children enjoying events organised by the P.T.F.A makes volunteering exceptionally rewarding.
