What we do, how we do it and why

An Overview

In a landscape of budget cuts, the Parent-Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) emerges as a crucial force, ensuring the vitality of education through strategic fundraising. Here are three key points that highlight the three main targets for this year:

What we do, How we do it and why....

Nurturing Literacy with the Accelerated Reader Programme

Amidst budget constraints, the Accelerated Reader Programme, a beacon of literacy development, faces the risk of funding shortages. The PTFA’s fundraising plays a pivotal role in supporting this program for all year groups, empowering students to enhance their reading skills and fostering a love for literature. By bridging the financial gap, the PTFA ensures that the school’s commitment to academic excellence remains unwavering.

Creating Moments of Joy for Young Minds

Children thrive on anticipation, and the PTFA understands the importance of providing them with events that spark excitement and enthusiasm. The funds raised contribute to events that offers students experiences that go beyond the classroom. From engaging workshops to fun-filled activities, these events not only enrich their lives but also create lasting memories, making the school experience truly holistic.

A Lifeline in the Cost of Living Crisis

The ongoing cost of living crisis places a significant burden on families, impacting their ability to afford events that aren’t necessarily core to their learning experience (such as pantomimes) but that the children absolutely love doing. The PTFA, attuned to the challenges faced by the school community, extends its support to anyone in need. Through strategic financial assistance, the association helps alleviate some of the financial strain, providing relief to families grappling with the rising costs of everyday life.

In conclusion, the PTFA’s commitment to education and community goes beyond the confines of traditional roles. By addressing the impacts of budget cuts, creating memorable experiences for students, and providing crucial support during challenging economic times, the PTFA demonstrates the transformative power of collective effort. As we celebrate the successes fuelled by the PTFA’s fundraising initiatives, it becomes evident that this association is not merely an auxiliary body but an indispensable partner in shaping a brighter future for both students and families alike. This being said, we are very aware that this fundraising couldn’t be done without the support of the parents, guardians and families of the wonderful students of St Luke’s and without help from the school itself. So we would like to take the time to thank every single person for their efforts in the past and their upcoming efforts for this new year. We appreciate it more than we can express.
